Middletown, Pennsylvania’s Rough Wear Clothing was awarded five contracts to manufacture the A-2 flight jacket for the U.S.A.A.F. This version was based off the fourth contract: 23380. Made of a vegetable tanned bronco hide, this jacket features a larger collar with a collar stand. The leather is made by soaking Italian raw hides in a tank with tannin extracted from bark. It is then finished with seal brown aniline dye.

The back of this jacket is hand painted with a graphic that adorned B-26 Marauder flown by the 451st Bomb Squadron in Holland, as well as an image of this plane in action. The plane received the nickname "Mister Period Twice" after it avoided participation in a disastrous bombing raid on the power plants in Ijmuiden, Holland.
